08/11/1931 – 02/23/2024
With her three children by her side, Donna Lee Magnuson departed her earthly home in Glenwood Springs, CO to enter her heavenly home on February 23, 2024….to be forever with the Lord.
She was born August 11, 1931 to Alec and Bertha Schreiner and was raised on a farm in Wellington, Colorado. After graduating from high school, she attended Central Business College in Denver. Donna met Ted Magnuson while employed together at Burns Detective Agency.
They were married in 1957 and lived in Littleton, Colorado until moving to Glenwood Springs in 1967 when Ted took employment at Colorado Mountain College. Donna was the loving and caring mother of Stanley, Sonja (John), and Scott, with two married grandchildren Christopher (Mariah) and Angelica (Joseph). She became a great-grandmother to baby Hezekiah one month prior to her passing.
As a pastor’s wife, Donna served the Lord with her husband in churches over the years throughout Colorado. She used the gifts God gave her; playing the piano and organ, writing music, songs & stories, and providing hospitality in their home.
Soon after the death of her husband Ted in 2009, her youngest son Scott became her caregiver for the next 15 years. Donna was blessed to live in the same house for 53 years in West Glenwood, using her skills in decorating, sewing, and making crafts for others.
The family would like to thank the hospice workers who helped Scott care for his mother at home during the last few months of her life. Cremation has taken place; there will be no service at this time.
She is now forever with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because of what He did for her by shedding His blood on the cross for her sins and rising again, conquering sin and death. By faith and trust in Him, she received that gift of salvation which is available to all – read Acts 16:31; John 3:36; and Romans 10:9 in the Bible. Donna would also memorize Scripture.
