Obituary: Timothy (Tim) Zeman

March 4, 1964 – June 17, 2024

Timothy “Tim” Joseph Zeman, beloved husband, father, papa and outdoor enthusiast, passed away on June 17th, 2024 at the age of 60. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Born and raised in Rifle CO, Tim had a passion for the great outdoors from an early age. He found solace and joy in hunting, fishing, and camping, where he could connect with nature and spend quality time with his loved ones. Tim’s love for these activities was contagious, and he had a natural ability to make every adventure memorable and full of laughter.

Tim’s dedication to his family was unwavering. Tim was married to Lisa, and together they shared a life filled with adventure and love. He was a devoted father to his sons, Will and Dakota, whom he raised with a strong sense of family values and a love for nature. Tim found immense joy in being a papa to his grandchildren, Coulter and Hailey, cherishing every moment spent with them.

Beyond his passion for the outdoors, Tim was known for his down-to-earth comical personality and genuine kindness. He had a heart full of compassion and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His positive outlook on life brightened the lives of everyone around him.

At the time of his passing, Tim was employed with Garfield School District RE-2. He cherished his role within the RE-2 family and was deeply grateful for the unwavering support they provided him during his illness. Tim’s dedication and his warm spirit touched the lives of many within the school community and beyond.

Tim leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and family unity. He is survived by his wife Lisa, children William (Amanda Jo) Zeman of Florence, MT, Dakota Zeman of Rifle and grandchildren Coulter and Hailey. He is also survived by Aunt Nina Smith of Lexington, KY, brother Michael (Yvonne) Zeman of Montrose, sister Valerie (Steve) Mallicoat of Rifle, close cousin Ronda Chrisman of Rifle, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Mollie.

Join us for an Open House Celebratory BBQ on July 27th, from 10:30 AM until 7:00 PM, at the Community House in Rifle Mountain Park. Food and games will be provided.
Parking is limited, so please carpool if possible. We will be running a shuttle from the Community House if we run out of parking. There are 20 camping spots available below the Community House from July 26th to July 29th. Since space is limited, please let us know if you intend to camp. BYOB and memories of Tim to share!
