October 7, 1976 – May 29, 2025
Ronald Vincent Halbert passed away peacefully at home in Rifle, Colorado, on May 29, 2025, at the age of 48. He was born in Glenwood Springs, on October 7, 1976, to Terry Halbert and Sharon Hayes.
Ronnie worked in construction and excelled at glass work, installing windows and shower doors throughout the valley. He took great joy in cruising the backroads looking for wildlife and beautiful scenery. He loved Rifle and Harvey Gap and riding in the mountains. He was an impatient fisherman and hunter, and gave up both in this late 20s. Ronnie’s real passion was being a member and former President of the Rifle Moose Lodge, and being involved in the many causes and activities the Moose supported.
More importantly to him though, were the many, many friends he was blessed to have. He had a special bond with his very good friend, Dick Keithley, and they both considered each other family. Ronnie cherished his friendships and always helped anyone who needed it.
Ronnie is survived by his mom, Sharon Hayes; sister, Sami (Steve) Geurts; stepdad, Ronny Hayes; his dad’s wife, Lark Lawson, and her daughters, Elissa (Josh) Nye and Julia (Dan) Donohoue; his uncle Robert (Deb) Walsh, uncle Terry (Joselyn) Walsh, aunt Paula (Cork) Walsh, aunt Nancy (Bob) Halbert, and numerous cousins.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his dad, Terry Halbert; grandparents, Vince and Yvonne Walsh, and Paul and Juanita Weaver; uncles Ken (Stoney) Walsh, Larry (Cork) Walsh, Bob Halbert, and Ron Halbert (his namesake); and aunt Judy Halbert.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rifle Moose Lodge (133 E. 3rd Street) on July 12, 2025, at 11:00 am.
