Staniford (Stan) Clay Speck passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017. He leaves behind his wife Elaine of 50 years, son Todd, daughter Laura and his beloved little dog Laddie. He was a big part of the lives of his extended family living in Glenwood Springs and especially his "brother in life" Glenn Hartmann. Stan was a big part of the community for 45 years as owner of The Alpine Dental Lab. He also was involved with the Kiwanis Service Organization, as a Community Concert Board Member, and member of the local Ham Radio club. He loved the outdoors — skiing, boating, riding motorcycles, fishing, flying model airplanes & jeeping. He took great pride in restoring his 1930 Model A Ford "Daisy" and won several awards for it including numerous Best In Show. Stan served in the Army from 1963-1966 and was stationed in Germany where he learned the craft of dental laboratory. He loved to travel and learn new things and looked for the moments in every day that would bring a smile to his face. He will be greatly missed but the memories he made will last in our hearts forever. There will be a graveside service with Military Honors for immediate family held at Rosebud cemetery on Friday, July 7th, and a special Celebration of Life at 4:00pm at Kiwanis (Veltus) Park.
