Elizabeth Ellen Ibarra was born May 22, 1938 in Glenwood Springs, CO to Joe Blanco and Idella (Marcketti) Blanco and passed on June 16, 2016 in Grand Junction, CO. She attended schools in Glenwood Springs, graduating high school in 1956.
Elizabeth “Liz” married Henry “Hank” Ibarra at St. Stephen’s Church in Glenwood April 2, 1964. On July 7, 1966, she gave birth to a daughter, Stephanie Ann. While in Glenwood, Liz worked as a hostess at the Buffalo Valley Restaurant, the Italian Underground, and at Bullocks Department Store.
In August of 1991, Hank and Liz moved to Grand Junction where she worked as a hostess for Norm Cook at the Holiday Inn, and later, Applebee’s. She will be remembered with an ever present smile and a wonderful disposition. She passed away at home with her husband by her side.
She leaves behind husband, Hank; daughter, Stephanie; grandchildren, Trevor, recent graduate of Florida State and Kiana entering Southeastern College Lakeland, FL., this September. She is also survived by brothers, Father Joe Blanco of Denver, and James “Butch” (Sharon) Blanco of Peach Valley; Arlene (Ross) Sacco of UT; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Guy Gagne of Clifton; Martha and Ellery Beard Jr. of CT; Alicia and Matthew of Sarrett, GA; several pieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A rosary was held at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Memorial services will be held in Glenwood Springs at a later date.
