June 9, 1949 – July 26, 2023
If you are reading this, you have come tantilizingly close to a final viewing of Fred Billmeyer, loving son, devoted father, good friend and proud owner of the Wood Works of Silt Colorado.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held on July 30th, 1-3 PM at Grand Valley Recreational Center in Battlement Mesa, Colorado.
Fred enjoyed traveling, Nascar, and being on the open road singing Rock’n Roll. He had a strong work ethic and never let his tools get disorganized. He made custom cabinets out of his shop in Silt, Colorado serving customers from Aspen to Malibu. Fred is survived by his closest friends and his only son Curtis Billmeyer. He himself was a devoted son who cared for his mother Alice Billmeyer until the end of her life. “Fred was an avid Nascar fan who never missed a race on T.V. and I loved going to the races with him,” states his friend Rich. “Fred had a unique wisdom about life, that not everybody agreed with, but he followed it till the end,” remembers Greg. People who visited Fred’s home may recall one of his favorite quotes posted on the wall: “God gave me so many things to do, and I am so far behind, that right now I’ll never die.” We like to think that he must have finally felt caught up.
