July 22, 2002 – August 30, 2023

Ellis Jonathan Biggs was born on July 22, 2002 in Denver, Colorado. He was brought home to be with his forever family on May 17, 2008. Jonathan was legally adopted on November 15, 2008, and one week later on November 22, he was sealed to his family for time and all eternity in the Denver, Colorado Temple. In an instant, Jonathan had more family than he could count. With that family came eternal love. A love that allows him to be reunited with his family in Heaven forever. Jonathan was immeasurably important in all of our lives.
Jonathan lit up any room he was in, and he had a huge positive impact on everyone who got to meet him. Jonathan changed the world by changing his family, our schools and our community for the better without uttering a single word.  In the Book of Mormon we learn, “But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words.”  In a not so small way, our Father in Heaven used Jonathan and his challenges to make us all better.  From his smiles to his singing, Jonathan became a bright light to all those who knew him. In a beautiful way for us, this bright light was represented the night after he died, in the light of a super blue moon that shone over all the earth.  We needed Jonathan more than he ever needed us.  As we learn in John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  Jonathan spent his entire life spreading love and we are all better for it.
On August 30, 2023, Ellis Jonathan Biggs passed away peacefully. He was surrounded by his Earthly Parents, Heavenly Parents, and all his loving family and ancestors who had already passed on. He left this Earth with a classic Jonathan smile on his face. He was ready to return to his Heavenly home. Jonathan’s memory will be carried on through his parents, six brothers, five sisters, brothers and sisters in-law, grandparents, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and all those who had the great opportunity to meet him.
Services will be held on September 9 at 10am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; 409 29th St, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601. All Are Welcome.
“If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of.” -Mr. Rogers
